When a musical play is interrupted by a board meeting that falls apart in anger, one of the teen actors questions whether the Brethren really have anything to offer her. Can their production of "A SIMPLE FEAST" bring the participants back together to demonstrate that Brethren are still committed to live the love of Jesus no
matter what the cost?

Commissioned and produced by the Southern PA District of the Church of the Brethren for the church's Tercentennial, this highly entertaining, educational, thought-provoking and timeless intergenerational musical is intended for local church use either as live drama or viewing the DVD.

It was premiered at the Mechanicsburg, PA Church of the Brethren in May 2008. A DVD of the show has been produced and excerpts of this were shown at the Brethren Annual Conference, Richmond, VA in July. The DVD sold out! But more copies are on the way! The DVD includes a Study Guide by Frank Ramirez.

The DVD menu is divided into separate scenes and acts which make it flexible for Sunday School or Study Group use (several scenes per session) as well as personal and congregational viewing all at once. (Perhaps a "Meal and Matinee" after Sunday worship or a "Movie Night" with a meal and/or popcorn!)

The hymn-anthem "Pilgrimage of Faith" by Engle and Ramirez, premiered at the Brethren's Annual Conference in July, will again be sung the last weekend of September. The anthem version will be sung once and the hymn used in two serivces. At the Richmond, IN campus. Copies are also being sent to churches nationally.

Hildy Higginbottom's CD "RHYMES FOR LONG LIVERS AND OTHER ORGAN RECITALS" has been used in Prof. Geffry Kelly's Bio-ethics Gerontology classes at La Salle University, Philadephia, PA.

Recently DUSTY, Steve and BUZZ the Buzzard entertained at Penn State University at President Spanier's gorgeous digs for an invitation-only tailgate buffet before the Penn State-So. Florida game. Invited were major donors, their families, and reps from all the PSU campuses. About 400 attended. Dusty even got to kibbitz with the Pres on stage.

Leland Wilson, former pastor, Director of the Brethren's Washington Office and Director of Interpretation for the General Board, offers two choice books via Dunkertown Workshop. Check them out in the DunkerStore as well as in Reviews, Who We Are and Photos sections

The "Angels Everywhere" performance at the Everett, PA High School was covered by WTAJ-TV, Altoona, PA on the 11:00 PM report. ("Live! Local! Late-Breaking!") Several shots of the cast and an interview with Frank Ramirez were featured. The performance was a benefit for a local family who were flood victims of Hurricane Ivan last fall.

We are thrilled to announce that these veteran Brethren composer-musicians will be making their artistic efforts available through Dunkertown Workshop.
